Blondie(1957)

Blondie is a sitcom that premiered on NBC on January 4, 1957, adapting the beloved comic strip for television. Pamela Britton stars as the title character, with Arthur Lake reprising his role as her husband Dagwood Bumstead from the earlier Blondie film series. Though Lake was cast in the final version, a 1954 pilot had featured Hal Le Roy in the Dagwood role opposite Britton. The series captures the domestic humor and everyday chaos of married life in the 1950s, following the misadventures of the Bumstead household. This was the first of two TV adaptations drawn from the comic strip, though it ran for a limited time. The DVD release of the 1957 series includes only the first three episodes.
