Not Easy to Forgive is a Chinese drama that follows Yu Zhong Sheng, the eldest apprentice of master carpenter Yi Da Chuan, who harbors a secret love for the master's granddaughter, Yi Xiao Chuan. When jealous rival apprentice Yin Dong Yi sabotages a neighbor's house beam, a child dies in the collapse. Yu Zhong Sheng takes the fall and is imprisoned. Meanwhile, circumstances force Yi Xiao Chuan into marriage with Yin Dong Yi, though her heart belongs to Yu Zhong Sheng. Upon release, Yu Zhong Sheng seeks revenge, but as his vendetta spirals and causes suffering to those around them, both men begin to question their actions and uncover the truth behind the tragedy that divided them.
