Mother(2022)

Mother is a Taiwanese series that follows GAO Bing-han, an 80-year-old lawyer who fled to Taiwan as a child during the Chinese Civil War. Decades later, his legal practice brings him face-to-face with three mothers whose struggles echo the unresolved trauma of his own past. HONG tolerates her son's violence. JIANG, an indigenous woman, faces rejection from her father-in-law. XIE appears composed but battles severe depression rooted in family turmoil. As GAO navigates their intersecting crises, he grapples with a haunting question: whether the war truly ended or merely transformed into private suffering.
