Dear Detective from RAMPO with Love is a series following Hirai Taro, an aspiring writer enamored with classic detective fiction by Conan Doyle, Maurice Leblanc, and Edgar Allan Poe. Struggling to get his novels published, Taro works menial jobs while living in poverty, sustained only by letters from Murayama Ryuko, his sole reader and pen pal. When he meets Shirai Saburo, a seasoned private detective, the two form an unlikely partnership. Together they take on detective work, blending Taro's literary imagination with Saburo's street experience. The series explores their growing bond as they navigate cases while Taro continues chasing his dream of becoming a published author in an era that has little patience for his unconventional stories.
