The Walter Winchell File(1957)

The Walter Winchell File, a crime drama series that aired from 1957 to 1958, dramatized real cases covered by Walter Winchell's column in the New York Daily Mirror and investigated by the NYPD. Winchell himself hosted and narrated the show, which featured actors John Larch, George Cisar, Robert Anderson, Robert Brubaker, Dolores Donlon, and Gene Barry. The series ran for thirty-nine episodes: twenty-six aired on ABC during the 1957–1958 season, while the remaining thirteen were syndicated in 1959. The show preceded NBC's Bat Masterson by a year. Guest stars included child actor Dennis Holmes, who appeared in the 1957 episode "Thou Shalt Not Kill.
