La Garçonne is a French series following Monique Lerbier, the rebellious daughter of a war-profiteering industrialist. Neglected by her self-absorbed mother, Monique has grown into a fiercely independent woman with strong convictions and little patience for social hypocrisy or injustice. An atheist since adolescence, she refuses to conform to society's expectations. When her arranged marriage to engineer Lucien Vigneret is set to secure his family's business interests, Monique discovers his infidelity just two weeks before the wedding.
