Panda(2023)

Panda is a French series following a former elite cop who's traded his badge for a peaceful life in the Camargue marshlands. Now a pacifist matcha enthusiast running a modest shack with his teenage son, Panda has deliberately stripped away modern conveniences—no phone, no computer, no car—to maintain absolute serenity. His past, however, refuses to stay buried. When his old police unit calls him back to duty, Panda reluctantly returns to investigative work, but entirely on his own terms: no weapons, no violence, and definitely not before his morning meditation. The series balances crime-solving intrigue with deadpan humor as this zen-minded protagonist navigates cases while protecting the tranquil existence he's fought so hard to build. It's a clever take on the reluctant-cop-drawn-back-in premise, grounded in character and comedic restraint rather than action or drama.
