Muddy Dining Table is a series about Nejiki Mia, a supermarket clerk haunted by childhood trauma and parental abuse who struggles with deep self-doubt. When she falls for her store manager—the first person to show her kindness—she finds a glimmer of hope. But he abandons her when his wife's illness worsens, plunging Mia into despair. Determined to win him back, she begins inserting herself into his family's life under the guise of helping cure his wife. What starts as devotion curdles into something darker and more obsessive as Mia grows dangerously close to both the wife and their son. The series explores how trauma and longing can warp into something toxic, blurring the line between care and control.
