ZIG ZAG Gang is a Russian series set in besieged Leningrad during the brutal winter of 1941. As the city starves—rations reduced to 125 grams of bread daily—a criminal gang emerges, specializing in forging food cards and committing fraud and robbery. The gang's name, ZIG ZAG, is a coded acronym standing for "Defenders of German Interests—The Banner of Adolf Hitler." The series follows these criminals navigating survival and betrayal amid one of World War II's deadliest sieges, where hunger and desperation blur the line between victim and perpetrator.
