Rare Bird is a 1943-set drama following Anna Petrova, a Soviet combat pilot recovering from severe injury. Reassigned to an aviation plant as a leading engineer, Anna is tasked by management to test-fly a new prototype fighter aircraft, the Gyrfalcon, alongside Major Zotov. The mission carries dual purpose: delivering the plane to the front lines and advancing the Soviet war effort. But Anna harbors a personal vendetta. She's determined to confront Major Briggel, the German pilot responsible for her lover's death. As Anna navigates her physical limitations, professional duties, and desire for revenge, the stakes of her mission intensify.
