Thrill! The Black Chapter is a Japanese series following Shirai Shinnosuke, a ruthless lawyer who takes only lucrative cases. When hired to recover a stolen painting tied to a robbery-murder investigation, Shirai negotiates directly with the criminal outside police channels. He retrieves the artwork but is framed for the crime himself. Desperate to clear his name, Shirai partners with police officer Sotogawa and Nakano Hitomi from the Metropolitan Police Department's general affairs division.
