What's Happening Now!! is a sitcom that follows Raj Thomas, a newly graduated writer who returns to his childhood neighborhood in Watts with his wife Nadine, a social worker. Settling into his mother's old house, Raj reconnects with his past when he discovers that Rob's Place, the beloved soda shop from his youth, has closed. Seizing the opportunity, he partners with Shirley Wilson, a former waitress, to reopen the business under the same name. Meanwhile, Raj's childhood friends have moved on to new lives—Dwayne Nelson works as a computer programmer and Freddie "Rerun" Stubbs sells used cars. As Raj balances married life, entrepreneurship, and rekindled friendships, the show explores themes of nostalgia, ambition, and community in this comedic take on second chances and coming home.
