Qiao's Grand Courtyard(2006)

Qiao's Grand Courtyard is a 2006 Chinese historical drama series set during the late Qing Dynasty. It chronicles the life of Shanxi financier and philanthropist Qiao Zhiyong, blending historical fact with artistic interpretation. The 45-episode series, directed by Hu Mei, aired on CCTV-1 and was partly filmed at Qiao's Compound, the businessman's ancestral home in Qi County, Shanxi. Chen Jianbin and Jiang Qinqin lead the cast, both winning Audience Favorite awards at the 2006 Golden Eagle TV Art Festival. The series earned Best Drama Series at the 1st Seoul Drama Awards. Hu Mei brings her signature style from acclaimed historical dramas like Yongzheng Dynasty and The Emperor Han Wu to this portrait of ambition, commerce, and legacy in imperial China.
