Cold Lazarus(1996)
Cold Lazarus is a four-part British science-fiction drama written by Dennis Potter in the final months of his life. Set in a bleak 24th-century dystopia, the series follows scientists attempting to revive the consciousness of Daniel Feeld, a 20th-century writer whose head was cryogenically preserved after his death. When the project stalls and faces cancellation, ruthless media mogul David Siltz discovers the experiment and sees an opportunity to exploit Feeld's memories for mass broadcast entertainment. Cold Lazarus forms the second part of Potter's final creative vision, paired with the serial Karaoke, and stands as his only venture into science fiction. The drama explores themes of mortality, memory, and the commodification of human experience in a dystopian future.
