Rec(2006)

Rec is a Japanese anime series following an aspiring voice actress navigating the competitive world of professional dubbing and performance. Based on the manga by Q-Tarō Hanamizawa, this nine-episode adaptation by studio Shaft aired in early 2006 and captures the ambitions and struggles of a young woman determined to break into the voice acting industry. The series balances comedy with genuine character development as it explores what it takes to succeed in Japan's demanding entertainment sector. An original video animation episode was also produced to extend the story beyond the initial broadcast run.
