Bokurano(2007)

Bokurano is an anime series that begins when 15 children discover a hidden grotto during summer camp, where they meet a mysterious programmer named Kokopelli. He convinces them to test his new game—piloting a giant robot to defend Earth against alien invasions—and all but one sign his contract. The children wake on the beach convinced it was a dream, but the line between game and reality soon blurs. As they're forced to pilot the massive mecha in increasingly devastating battles, they discover the true cost of their agreement. The series blends mecha action with psychological horror, exploring themes of sacrifice, responsibility, and the loss of childhood innocence as the children grapple with the consequences of their choice.
