The Law of Ueki(2005)

The Law of Ueki is an action anime series that follows Ueki, an ordinary junior high student who gains the unexpected ability to transform trash into trees. Chosen by the mysterious Mr. K., Ueki is thrust into a high-stakes tournament called the Battle of Supernatural Powers, where 100 fighters with unique abilities compete for supremacy. Victory means Mr. K becomes the next King of the Celestial World and Ueki receives the Talent of Blank—a power to choose any ability he desires. But there's a catch: accumulate too many penalties during the tournament and Ueki will vanish forever. As the competition intensifies, Ueki must master his peculiar power and navigate dangerous opponents while uncovering the true stakes of the battle.
