On The First Beat(2007)

On The First Beat is a TVB modern action series that aired in June 2007. A direct sequel to 2005's The Academy, the drama follows young police officers navigating professional ambitions and personal conflicts. Ron Ng and Sammul Chan reprise their roles alongside new cast members including Michael Tao, Sonija Kwok, Joey Yung, Kenny Kwan and Kate Tsui. The story centers on their growth within the Hong Kong Police Force, exploring the bonds of friendship tested by romantic entanglements and the pressures of law enforcement. The ensemble cast captures both the intensity of police work and the everyday struggles of officers and cadets off duty. The series spawned another sequel, E.U., which aired in 2009 and continued with Ron Ng and Sammul Chan in leading roles.
