Yu-Gi-Oh!(1998)

Yu-Gi-Oh! is an anime series following Yugi Muto, a shy teenager with a passion for games who discovers an ancient artifact called the Millennium Puzzle. When he solves it, Yugi unknowingly awakens the spirit of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh trapped within the puzzle, who shares his body and emerges during moments of conflict. The pharaoh, known as Yami Yugi, becomes Yugi's alter ego—a darker, more confident presence that takes control when his friends face danger or injustice. Together, the two engage in high-stakes card games and duels, particularly the trading card game Duel Monsters, battling opponents who threaten those Yugi cares about.
