Heartstrings(2011)

Heartstrings is a South Korean series about two music students from opposing worlds. Lee Gyu Won comes from a prestigious pansori family and studies traditional Korean music to honor her grandfather's legacy. Lee Shin, the charismatic but aloof lead singer of indie rock band The Stupid, dismisses gugak as outdated. When they're forced together at university, their passionate arguments over music's meaning spark an unexpected romance. The series blends campus life, musical performance, and slow-burn chemistry as both characters challenge each other's assumptions about art, tradition, and love. It's a charming exploration of how two people from different musical cultures can find common ground and deeper connection.
