Arnie is a CBS sitcom that aired for two seasons in the early 1970s, starring Herschel Bernardi as the title character. Arnie Nuvo is a blue-collar worker at Continental Flange Company who unexpectedly lands an executive promotion, thrusting him into a fish-out-of-water comedy. His struggles navigating corporate life form the heart of the show, especially his fraught relationship with his eccentric, wealthy boss Hamilton Majors Jr., played by Roger Bowen. Because Arnie still holds his union card, he becomes invaluable in settling management and labor disputes. Sue Ane Langdon rounds out the core cast. Despite earning an Emmy nomination for best comedy series in its first season and serving as lead-in to The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Arnie drew modest ratings. For season two, CBS introduced Charles Nelson Reilly as Randy Robinson, a flamboyant TV chef known as "The Giddyap Gourmet," in an effort to boost viewership.
