Detroit Metal City is a comedy series following Souichi Negishi, a soft-spoken college graduate who leads a double life as Johannes Krauser II, the demonic frontman of a wildly popular death metal band. By day, Negishi dreams of Swedish pop and quiet afternoons; by night, he transforms into the theatrical, crude persona that has captivated the metal world. The series chronicles his chaotic attempts to balance his exhausting band commitments, an emerging romance, and the obsessive devotion of DMC's fervent fanbase. As Negishi navigates sold-out shows and increasingly outrageous concert demands, his gentle nature constantly clashes with Krauser's brutal public image, creating absurd situations that drive the show's humor.
