Skip Beat! is a romantic comedy series following Kyoko, a devoted young woman who abandons her own dreams to support her childhood sweetheart Sho's idol career in Tokyo. She works multiple jobs and sacrifices everything for him, only to discover he's been using her as a maid and never cared for her at all. Devastated but determined, Kyoko transforms herself—cutting her hair, changing her style and attitude—and enters the entertainment industry with a singular goal: revenge. What begins as a quest for payback becomes something far more complex as Kyoko discovers her own talents and ambitions in showbiz.
