Northern Lights

Northern Lights is a 2006 comedy-drama that spins off from the 2004 Christmas special Christmas Lights. The story follows Colin and Howie as they navigate the holiday season with contrasting attitudes toward Christmas cheer. When the pair travels to Lithuania to represent the United Kingdom at a Santa convention, their personalities clash in unexpected ways. Miserable Howie lands the coveted Santa role while genuine Christmas enthusiast Colin becomes a cheerleading elf, creating comedic tension throughout their festive adventure. The show proved popular enough to spawn a sequel, City Lights, in 2007, and a follow-up Christmas special called Clash of the Santas in December 2008. Northern Lights blends humor with seasonal warmth, capturing the friction between opposing temperaments during the most wonderful time of year.
