Beat-Club(1965)
The show might be in German, but the music is still great!
Beat-Club was a groundbreaking German music television series that aired from September 1965 to December 1972. As the first German show dedicated entirely to popular music, it became a cultural landmark for introducing rock, soul, and psychedelic acts to domestic audiences. The program featured an extraordinary roster of international artists including The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, David Bowie, Frank Zappa, Cream, and The Doors, alongside emerging talents like Rory Gallagher and Ten Years After. Over its seven-year run, Beat-Club captured live performances that defined the era's sound and visual style. The series concluded in December 1972, succeeded by the similarly influential Musikladen, cementing its legacy as a pivotal platform for rock and pop music in European television history.
