Resurrection(2011)

Resurrection is a Russian period drama set in late 19th-century Russia. Prince Dimitri Necklivdov serves as a juror in a murder trial where the defendant is Katiuscia Maslova, accused of robbing and killing a merchant. When Dimitri recognizes Katiuscia as a woman he seduced years earlier, he becomes determined to save her from conviction. The film explores themes of redemption, moral responsibility, and the consequences of past actions as Dimitri confronts his own role in her tragic circumstances. Adapted from Tolstoy's novel, Resurrection examines the collision between justice and personal conscience in Imperial Russia.
