My Own Worst Enemy is an American drama series that aired on NBC in 2008. Christian Slater stars as Edward Albright, a secret agent living a double life through an implanted chip that switches his personality to his cover identity, Henry Spivey. When the chip malfunctions in the pilot, the two personalities begin switching randomly, forcing Henry into the dangerous world of espionage without warning or control. Trapped in a life he never chose, Henry can only communicate with Edward through brief cell phone video messages as they navigate the chaos of their fractured existence. The series ran for nine episodes before ending on a cliffhanger, leaving major plot threads unresolved. Produced by Universal Media Studios and directed by David Semel, the show explores the psychological and physical toll of living as two separate people in one body.
