Wagon Train(1957)

Wagon Train is a Western series that follows a wagon master and scout guiding settlers across the frontier. Ward Bond anchors the show as wagon master until his death, when John McIntire takes over the role. Robert Horton stars as the scout in early seasons, later replaced by Robert Fuller. The series draws inspiration from John Ford's 1950 film Wagon Master, which also featured Bond, and echoes the epic scope of The Big Trail, the 1930 film that launched John Wayne's career and marked Bond's first major screen role. Horton's buckskin costume deliberately mirrors Wayne's costume from that earlier film, connecting the television series to its cinematic roots.
