Devices and Desires(1991)

Devices and Desires is a British crime drama following a brutal serial killer terrorizing the Norfolk coast near Larksoken nuclear power station. Dubbed "The Whistler" by the press after witnesses hear hymn-like whistling at crime scenes, the killer leaves a distinctive calling card: the letter "L" carved into each victim's forehead. Initially, the murders appear random—women in the wrong place at the wrong time. But when two employees of the nuclear facility are killed in quick succession, the investigation takes a darker turn. Detective Adam Dalgliesh must unravel whether the killer's obsession with Larksoken is coincidence or something far more sinister, as the case spirals into a tense psychological thriller that questions motive, obsession, and the nature of evil itself.
