Moonbeam City is an absurdist animated comedy set in a retro-futuristic 1980s metropolis. The series follows Dazzle Novak, an incompetent undercover detective whose criminal antics rival those of actual criminals. Caught between his tyrannical police chief Pizzaz Miller and ambitious rookie Rad Cunningham, who's eager to see him fail, Dazzle stumbles through investigations while barely avoiding disaster. The show mines comedy from the collision between Dazzle's bumbling nature and the demands of actual police work, all rendered in a vibrant, neon-soaked aesthetic that lovingly parodies cop dramas and 80s excess. With sharp voice acting and deadpan humor, Moonbeam City delivers surreal crime-fighting escapades where incompetence is the only constant.
