Yurikuma Arashi is a surreal anime series set in a world where humans have built a Wall of Severance to protect themselves from bears. Years earlier, the explosion of a distant planet called Kumalia sent meteors to Earth, triggering violent bear attacks. Two bears, Ginko Yurishiro and Lulu Yurigasaki, disguise themselves as humans and infiltrate Arashigaoka Academy to get close to Kureha Tsubaki, a girl who harbors deep hatred for bears. What begins as a simple infiltration becomes far stranger as the series explores themes of desire, identity, and acceptance beneath its surreal, symbolic surface. The show blends magical girl aesthetics with psychological drama, creating an unconventional narrative that defies easy categorization.
