Mash and Peas(1996)

Mash and Peas is a sketch comedy series written by and starring Matt Lucas and David Walliams. Airing on Paramount Comedy 1 and Channel 4 between 1996 and 1997, it marked the pair's first television collaboration. The show parodies various television genres through the bumbling antics of hosts Danny Mash and Gareth Peas, two childish and incompetent characters who introduce each sketch. Edgar Wright directed the series, while Paul Putner appeared throughout as a long-standing collaborator. The episodes were repeated before the channel's 1999 relaunch, cementing the show's place in British comedy history as an early vehicle for two comedians who would later achieve significant success.
