Toto Nee-chan is a historical drama series set in 1930s Japan. Young Tsuneko Kohashi enjoys a peaceful childhood in Shizuoka Prefecture with her parents and two younger sisters until her father's death from tuberculosis upends everything. Before dying, he entrusts Tsuneko with the responsibility of caring for the family. Facing mounting financial hardship, her mother Kimiko makes the difficult decision to relocate the household to Tokyo, where Tsuneko's grandmother can offer shelter. The series follows Tsuneko's journey as she navigates the weight of family obligation and adapts to a new life in the capital during a transformative period in Japanese history.
