Macross II: Lovers Again(1992)

Macross II: Lovers Again is an anime series set in 2089, eighty years after the first Space War united humans and Zentraedi. Peace shatters when the Marduk, a hostile alien race, invade the Solar System. SNN reporter Hibiki Kanzaki stumbles upon Ishtar, an Emulator whose voice amplifies Marduk combat power, during the opening battle. Hibiki smuggles Ishtar to Earth, determined to show her human culture and values as a path to peace. Alongside Valkyrie pilot Silvie Gena, Hibiki races to stop the Marduk commander Ingues from annihilating Earth. The series blends mecha action with romance and music, exploring whether understanding and connection can prevent planetary destruction.
