Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge(1994)

Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge is a BBC comedy series that ran for six episodes plus a Christmas special in 1995. Steve Coogan stars as Alan Partridge, a delusional Norwich-based chat show host whose incompetence and unshakeable self-regard drive the comedy. A spin-off from the radio sketch show On the Hour, the series parodies the talk show format with a live audience whose laughter undercuts any pretence of authenticity. Written by Coogan, Armando Iannucci and Patrick Marber, the show features a rotating cast of celebrity guests played by Doon Mackichan, Rebecca Front and David Schneider. The title references ABBA's "Knowing Me, Knowing You," which serves as the theme. Alan Partridge would later headline the sitcom I'm Alan Partridge, following his descent into domestic and professional ruin.
