Koikimo(2021)

Koikimo is a romantic comedy series that follows Amakusa Ryo, a womanizing salaryman whose life changes when a high school girl named Arima Ichika rescues him at a train station. Grateful but tactless, Ryo suggests repaying her with a kiss or a date—a proposal Ichika finds deeply creepy. Rather than deter him, her rejection sparks an obsessive infatuation. Ryo pursues Ichika relentlessly, showering her with declarations of love while she responds with insults and exasperation. Undeterred, Ryo interprets her hostility as hidden affection, setting up a dynamic where his earnest advances clash with her genuine discomfort. The series explores the comedic tension between his delusional persistence and her increasingly desperate attempts to shake him off.
