Awaiting Kirin(2020)

Awaiting Kirin is a historical drama set during Japan's Sengoku period, following the rise of Akechi Mitsuhide, a young wandering samurai in the strategically vital province of Mino. In the mid-1540s, after the Onin War has fractured the nation, regional warlords vie for supremacy and unification. Mino itself teeters on the brink of invasion, surrounded by powerful rivals including the Oda, Imagawa, and Asakura clans. When Mitsuhide's courage and tactical brilliance in battle catch the eye of Saito Dosan, the ambitious chief retainer of the ruling Toki clan, his fortunes shift dramatically. Dosan recognizes in Mitsuhide a tool for his own ambitions—to seize control of Mino and reshape its destiny. The series chronicles how these two men navigate treacherous politics and warfare during one of Japan's most transformative eras.
