Mars Red is a supernatural anime series set in 1923 Japan, where vampires have suddenly overrun the nation after a mysterious blood source called Ascra awakens them. The government establishes Code Zero, a covert military unit tasked with exterminating the undead threat. The squad pairs S-rank vampire Defrott, a powerful and experienced operative, with Kurusu, an inexperienced rookie soldier. Together they navigate a dark, gothic world of vampire hunting amid the chaos of early twentieth-century Japan. The series blends historical setting with supernatural horror as the team races to contain the outbreak before the vampire plague consumes the entire country.
