Border Cafe is a comedy drama series from Tim Firth, the writer behind Preston Front. Set in the fictional border town of Hale Point between England and Wales, the show follows an unlikely cast of characters whose lives collide at an American diner. Rock star Charlotte Smith abandons her career at its peak to run the cafe with her builder boyfriend David, who brings his chaotic brother Kidder on as chef. Ronnie, a former tribute act performer, joins as waitress. As the Border Cafe becomes a hub for the town's eccentric residents, the intertwined relationships and dependencies between the characters begin to shift in unexpected ways, creating drama and intrigue. The series explores how small-town life and ambition collide when strangers become entangled in each other's stories.
