Crossings(1986)

Crossings is a romantic drama set against the backdrop of World War II. When the luxury liner Normandie departs Washington D.C. for France, American-born Liane De Villiers—wife of the French ambassador and mother of two—encounters Nick Burnham, a wealthy American steel magnate trapped in his own unhappy marriage. Their attraction simmers beneath the surface during the voyage, unspoken and forbidden. As war erupts across Europe and Liane flees the chaos of Paris, fate brings them together again. This time, with the world crumbling around them, they can no longer deny the passion that has bound them since their first meeting. The film explores love, duty, and the impossible choices people face when personal desire collides with wartime survival.
