Extreme(1995)

Extreme is an action-adventure series that follows a Rocky Mountains search and rescue operation, starring James Brolin. The show debuted on ABC on January 29, 1995, as the lead-out program following the network's Super Bowl XXIX coverage. Despite its high-profile premiere slot, Extreme failed to find an audience. ABC canceled the series after just seven episodes, with the final episode airing on April 6, 1995, leaving six episodes unbroadcast. The show's poor performance marked a turning point for network television; the Big Four networks subsequently abandoned the strategy of launching new series immediately after the Super Bowl, opting instead to air special episodes of established programming in that coveted time slot.
