Gladiators(1992)

Gladiators is a British television entertainment series that aired on ITV from 1992 to 2000, adapted from the American format American Gladiators. The show pitted ordinary contestants against a team of athletic "Gladiators" in a series of physical challenges and competitive games. Presented by John Fashanu and Ulrika Jonsson, with Jeremy Guscott joining in 1997, Gladiators became a cultural phenomenon and inspired international adaptations in Australia and Sweden. The series was recorded at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena and featured its own cheerleading squad, G-Force. John Anderson refereed matches while commentator John Sachs provided play-by-play coverage. Gladiators was revived briefly in 2008 before cancellation in 2009. A children's spin-off, Gladiators: Train 2 Win, ran on CITV from 1995 to 1998, introducing younger audiences to the format's high-energy competition and athletic spectacle.
