Strike Witches is a military fantasy series set in 1939, when mysterious alien invaders called the Neuroi begin devastating human civilization. Humanity's only defense is the Striker Unit, a magical device that amplifies the powers of female witches. To combat the threat, young magic-wielders from across the globe are conscripted into an elite combat squadron: the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, known as the Strike Witches. The series follows this diverse team of witches as they deploy their enhanced magical abilities in aerial combat against the relentless Neuroi forces.
