Unfinished Dinner(1979)

Unfinished Dinner is a Swedish crime series that opens with the murder of a prominent industrialist during a banquet speech at an upscale restaurant, witnessed by dozens of guests. Criminal Investigation Officer Pierre Monson leads the case alongside his bumbling assistants Kvant and Kristiansson, whose incompetence—including a farcical encounter with a three-year-old shouting about mashed potatoes—nearly derails the investigation. When the trail goes cold, the famous Commissioner Martin Beck arrives from the capital and uncovers a web of illegal dealings and powerful enemies surrounding the victim. As Beck digs deeper, the case expands to implicate government corruption at the highest levels, transforming a simple murder inquiry into something far more dangerous and complex.
