Working Stiffs(1979)

Working Stiffs is a 1979 sitcom starring James Belushi and Michael Keaton as brothers Ernie and Mike O'Rourke, janitors scheming to climb the business ladder. Based in an office building owned by their Uncle Harry, the brothers share an apartment above a café where they befriend the owner and a waitress. The show leaned heavily on slapstick and physical comedy, with Penny Marshall directing the pilot. An early Paul Reubens appearance rounds out the cast. Despite nine episodes produced, CBS canceled the series after just four aired, unable to compete against NBC's CHiPs and ABC's The Ropers. The show gained a second life on home video and cable reruns once Belushi and Keaton became major film stars in the 1980s, introducing audiences to the pair's early comedic chemistry.
